My primary research interest is star and planet formation. I am particularly interested in topics of the early stage of planet formation. The first step of planet formation is the coagulation of micron-sized dust particles in protoplanetary disks. Dust aggregates are believed to somehow evolve into km-sized objects, called planetesimals, but this process is a long-standing mystery. I am trying to understand how planetesimals form in the disks. 
To this end, I have been working on the optical properties of dust aggregates and radiative transfer simulations of protoplanetary disks.
